Emma Smith

Emma has recently joined Metzger to support with the next exciting stage of their growth. She works across all functions and sectors and is part of an experienced resourcing team. Emma has a strong background in recruitment with over ten years’ commercial experience.

What is the best part of your role?

I love helping candidates find their perfect role and I really enjoy the variety of different people I speak to on a daily basis. I am also very lucky to work with an incredibly talented team who are so supportive of each other.

What values do you look for in a candidate?

I look for candidates who are honest, have a good attitude and show a genuine passion for what they do.

What would be your best career advice?

Work hard and be nice to people.

Can you name one person who has really inspired you and why?

I’m going to cheat and name a few! My friends inspire me – many of them have taken career breaks, retrained, and pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to start new careers. They have shown me that sometimes you need to take a risk and that opportunities in life don’t just happen, you have to create them.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I like to spend time with my friends and family, I really enjoy cooking and having people over for meals. I have recently started a pottery course which is my new favourite thing – I’m not very skilled but it is a great way to switch off and relax!
