The Context of the Assignment
The owner and Managing Director of a £7+million facilities management soft services company was looking to recruit a Senior Business Development Director, whose remit was to promote the long-term growth of the business and to commit to stay with the business for a minimum of 5 years. The company wanted to bring in someone from their own industry sector, but with a specific brief for Metzger to target only the London area and only commercial contracts.
The Recruitment Process
Our approach needed to be finely targeted and focused, as there would only be a small number of people who could fulfil this role. To assist in attracting the right calibre of candidate, a very commensurate package was offered, that would also retain the successful applicant for the desired 5-year period.
Metzger followed a recruitment process, which included its own extensive network database, searching and advertised selection, with a weekly campaign update report each Friday. Over the course of a few weeks, a number of potential candidates were identified and recommended to the client. In total 18 candidates were interviewed including 6 from Metzger and 12 from the client’s own network.
A candidate known to Metzger over a number of years was offered the position, which was accepted and the role will commence on 3 July 2017.
