Sales Director
Up to circa £90k basic and benefits
UK home based with occasional international travel

Our client is an innovative technology company that provides solutions into healthcare, and they are seeking to rapidly expand in the UK and internationally. The sales function is a relatively new and growing part of the business, and is core to the success and growth of our client. They are now looking to appoint a Sales Director to deliver the annual sales plan in cooperation with the senior management team. You will report into the CEO, and be the point of reference for sales within the organisation, as well as leading the sales team.

Key Responsibilities within the Executive Management Team:
*Deliver on the client's strategic ambitions
*Champion their growth in the market, winning in a competitive environment and taking advantage of opportunities arising
*Develop opportunities for acquisition and expansion
*Ensure profitable growth, consistent with the business opportunity
*Grow people capabilities to build succession plan and talent pipeline
*Develop strategies, 3-year plans and annual operating plans for each planning cycle that deliver profitable growth
*Manage key external relationships with partners associated with business development
*Understanding customer needs and motivations, and adapt the product range accordingly
*Evaluate and develop new market and product development opportunities
*Develop sales platforms and processes to optimise efficiency
*Ensure close collaboration with the Finance, Legal and Operations teams

Person Specification:
*A minimum of 10 years' experience of sales leadership within large service oriented, technology based, multi-site, branded and matrixed businesses
*Experience of delivering software sales to corporations, institutions and government organisations
*Knowledge of public sector tendering and procurement processes will be essential
*A rich background across functional sales disciplines, geographies and industries, ideally to include B2B experience gained within complex, international, regulated markets
*Knowledge and understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems
*Experience of managing sales through resellers and partners is preferred
*Substantial experience of customer-centric organisations, with highly-developed sales, marketing and customer-service operations
*Evidence of strong internal stakeholder management and credibility at senior leadership level
*Identified, realised and operationalised sales transformation, new business opportunities and large projects
*Evidence of transforming the performance of businesses through challenge and continuous improvement
