Our client the UK's leading supplier of janitorial, cleaning, and hygiene products has a new opportunity for an Operations Director. As one of the fastest-growing international distribution and outsourcing groups, they are able to provide their customers with the most cost-effective and competitively priced solutions for their cleaning and hygiene needs, in addition to the very best in customer service.
The main purpose of the Operations Director will be to oversee, support, monitor and advise on the operational aspects of the company. Deliver on the operational KPIs for the business whilst simultaneously further developing a culture of continuous improvement and customer service delivery enhancement.
*Develop an operational budget for the business
*To establish and deliver against a plan to drive cost efficiencies whilst delivering improvements in customer service
*To ensure that operational projects are delivered on time and in budget
*Ensure that company warehouse operational costs are maintained within budget
*Ensure that company delivery fleet operational costs are maintained within budget
*Provide regular and ad hoc operational reports as requested
*To assist the Branch Managers and Warehouse Managers so that they can continuously assess their operational staff against identified performance criteria and address issues of performance and conduct within the branch and deal with these by applying company HR policies.
*Ensure all training requirements are met and regularly reviewed.
*Operational efficiency - maintain inventory in line with budge, maintain fleet operations in line with legal requirements and transport policy
*Manage workplace and equipment in line with legal requirements and company policy
*Manage performance to minimise KPI's and in line with business
*Manage, support and coach key operational staff
*Ensure all staff focus on the customer and find ways to meet customer needs converting business strategy into practical day to day activities
*Instil a customer service ethic throughout the branch and ensure that queries are dealt with efficiently.
*Ensure customer service level meets company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary.
*Ensure that there is an active interface between operations, telesales and sales.
*To plan, oversee and manage significant projects so that they are delivered on time and in budget.
Qualifications & Experience
*Experienced in similar senior level operational roles
*Demonstrates the ability to develop/apply KPI's to measure and improve company operational performance
*Demonstrates effective team management
*Demonstrates successful senior operational management experience
*Experience of high volume, low margin business sectors.
*Relationship builder able to increase co-operation across departments
