We are excited to release details of a newly created role for a Head of Business Development. Acting on behalf of our thriving, ambitious and forward-thinking client - a well-respected and rapidly expanding Maintenance and Facilities business - we are inviting interest from candidates boasting a successful commercial sales career at senior level from directly within this market sector.

Our client is positioned for expansion and significant growth and needs to identify a trusted ambassador to steer future sales and development. With a proven track record of optimising revenue increase, you will be responsible for the management of a team of Business Development personnel. You will provide expertise and direction to:

*drive company-wide sales performance
*implement sales incentives
*deliver primary research, industry, market and competitor analysis
*manage large private and public sector client portfolios

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will be pivotal to the realisation of broader company goals and be fundamental to the projected expansion plans of the business. You will inherit a lucrative portfolio of existing client relationships to manage and further develop and will be tasked with the identification of new strategic accounts to target.

Key internal collaborative relationships will include:

*Operations - help cultivate robust commercial development strategies and report to internal senior management team
*Marketing - contribute to embellishment of the company external brand presence to adequately showcase the full range of maintenance related company services across different sectors; increase digital marketing strategies to expand client attainment; provide detailed market segmentation; develop value proposition; position technology; realign pricing, channel and branding strategies; improve marcomms
*Bid and Estimate Management - increase bid conversion rates; influence commercial business decisions; analyse cost and delivery implications to facilitate profitable business development

The Head of Business Development will:

*Manage, negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders
*Develop framework agreements, build relationships with associated networking bodies and forge inroads with broader industry-specific professionals
*Possess up-to-date knowledge of the industry, sector and marketplace trends and intelligence
*Identify and attend key events, exhibitions, and tradeshows to augment brand awareness
*Report on market intelligence and competitor performance
*Deliver compelling sales and value propositions
*Negotiate new and existing sales contracts
*Define, test, refine and implement strategic plans to successfully secure sufficient bid opportunities and support revenue targets for the sales team
*Identify, monitor, and analyse sales KPIs
*Maintain internal company-wide CRM system
*Remain transparently customer-centric throughout all aspects of the sales process
*Provide motivation and leadership across all internal business areas
*Prudently manage resources within budgetary guidelines according to company policy, remaining governed by ethical corporate guidelines
*Positively reflect the values, reputation, ethical codes, standards, policies and procedures of the business both internally and externally

Preferred experience, qualifications, and characteristics:

*Accomplished senior level sales professional with recent experience gained in the maintenance (or related) arena
*Natural leadership and motivational qualities in a business development environment
*Exhibit a strong general business acumen
*Offer a mature, efficient, energetic and dynamic work ethic and be confident to interact with a broad spectrum of personnel at all levels
*Possess a degree in Business Administration (or comparable educational award)
*Highly effective confident and articulate communicator - public speaking, presenting, written and verbal
*Proficient organisational, analytical and planning skills; exceptional time management
*Commercially astute, ambitious, target and results orientated
*Advanced IT skills (Microsoft package)
*Flexible to travel, with a full UK driving licence
