Job Description

Role Title: Finance Director

Salary: Competitive salary plus benefits

Location: Hertfordshire

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Director who will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company.

You will work closely with the executive team to drive financial performance, ensure sustainable growth, and provide strategic insights that shape the future direction of the company.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A successful track record in a senior commercial and operational finance role, ideally in a private SME
  • Previous experience in adding value by bringing an objective view and constantly looking for ways to make improvements to a business
  • Demonstrable track record of taking a business through growth and process transformation, leveraging new technology in a practical way to drive consistency and efficiency
  • A hands-on attitude with the ability to work proactively with a forward-thinking approach
  • A desire to work for a business with ambitious plans for growth
  • Natural leadership capabilities, with a credible background and proven experience of the ability to engage cross functionally with a collaborative mindset
  • A curious and inquisitive personality, with the intellectual capacity to contribute and influence as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Great attention to detail, and be a completer-finisher by nature with a natural orientation towards targets and deadlines
  • A logical and structured approach to strategy and performance, ensuring goals are fully understood by the wider business and targets are met and exceeded
  • Confidence in your own ability to deliver and composure when facing challenging situations and direct challenges from others

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within Facilities Management or Business Services sectors
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and strategy development
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Previous experience of adding value by bringing an objective view and constantly looking for ways to make improvements
  • Demonstrable track record of taking a business through change and process transformation, leveraging new technology in a practical way to drive consistency and efficiency
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
