Contract Manager

Location: London with flexibility to travel across London

Salary: Competitive salary plus car, bonus and benefits

 

Our client offer specialist cleaning services to the rail sector. They are looking for a Contract Manager who can manage and oversee the delivery of their contracts, developing and leading a team to provide an excellent standard of work.

 

In this role you will also develop further business within the contract to meet key business objectives as well as managing and delivering the contract within financial and operational budgets.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Leading and managing on site team leaders at various locations to deliver outstanding service levels in a consistent manner
  • Ensuring all personal certification and permits are valid and up to date
  • Overseeing and managing daily staffing levels and rotas
  • Continually inspecting and auditing cleanliness levels to maintain the high level of standards required
  • Deciding on staffing levels, recruitment plans and appropriate deployment
  • Overseeing and managing the planning of weekly rosters, annual leave, collation and authorisation of timesheets and all other payroll related data
  • Conducting disciplinary meetings, investigations and interviews
  • Holding responsibility for welfare, health and safety and PPE for all staff
  • Ensuring quality standards of delivery, ensuring that trains are checked and left in a presentable state before passengers embark
  • Carrying out quality, cleaning and safety inspections on site
  • Regularly reviewing the training and development needs of the Team Leaders and cleaning operatives, and ensuring that training/mentoring is booked, as required
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures in relation to people management and specifically absence management and disciplinary procedures

 

 

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills, experience and attributes:

 

  • Previous experience working with the transport sector, specifically rail
  • A proven track record in management, along with strong commercial and financial acumen
  • The ability to promote a ‘right first time’ culture and inspire team spirit, encouraging everyone to take pride in their work
  • A strong understanding both commercially and operationally within both contract and project management
  • Demonstrable experience working and reacting well under pressure within tight timescales
  • A full clean driving license and PTS (Personal Track Safety) qualification are essential
