Job Description

Business Development Manager
Salary: Up to £50K basic salary plus bonus and car
Location: North of England, with national coverage

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to work with a leading business providing hygiene products and consumables.

Your role will be to maintain and grow sales and profitability of a defined portfolio of new customers in the residential care sector across the North of the United Kingdom.

Other duties will include:
*Providing quotes for customers to achieve agreed financial targets
*Liaising with Purchasing to develop joint approaches to major prospect customers
*Growing the value of existing customers by constantly seeking opportunities to extend volume, range and own brand offering
*Understanding our clients' USP and tailoring it to add value to customer offerings
*Prospecting new customers and regaining lost business
*Actively participating in tender opportunities
*Producing a business plan for existing and new customer portfolios in line with budget
*Providing regular reports as required by the management team
*Maintaining existing business through effective customer contact including regular visits
*Maintaining price files and advising customers of increases whilst managing expectations to ensure business is retained
*Working with field sales teams, telesales teams and all branch functions to deliver the highest levels of customer contact and service at all times

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
*A proven business development professional who is a hunter in nature
*Demonstrable success in a sales role, with knowledge of the residential care sector
*The ability to provide support, coaching and technical development to team members
*Skilled in time management, with the proven ability to manage your own time, territory, and portfolio of clients
*The ability to recognise the value of understanding customers' underlying, un-expressed needs and respond to these accordingly
*Holder of a full driving licence
