What is the best part of your role?
I love the variety that the role brings. I enjoy speaking to candidates from all walks of life, helping them advance their careers, at the same time sourcing exceptional talent for our clients.
What values do you look for in a candidate?
A candidate must be presentable, enthusiastic, and looking to move for the right reasons. I look for someone who is genuine, honest, has integrity and is a team player.
What would be your best career advice?
Think about why you are looking for a new role, understand your motivations and do not move just for an increase in salary – this often never ends well! If you are not happy at work, try and understand why, more often than not, there has been breakdown in communication and expectations which sometimes can be easily resolved. If you do decide to look for a new job, do your research. Think about what is important to you, both professionally and outside of work, ensure you understand what is expected of you.
Can you name one person who has really inspired you and why?
One of my old Directors showed me that in business it is not all about delivering the numbers, it is about the people, without good people you cannot succeed, so treat them the way you would expect to be treated yourself, be kind, honest and look for the best in them.
What do you do when you’re not working?
When I am not working, I like to spend time with my friends and family. I am quite a social person and like to be out and about catching up with friends, when I am not ferrying my children around to their various activities. I’m also a foodie and love to try new foods and eat out as much as time allows.
